Monday 1 July marks the start of Co-production Week 2024! It celebrates the benefits of co-production, shares good practice and promotes the contribution of people who access care and support in developing better social care.
The theme of Co-production Week this year: ‘Co-production: What’s Missing?’ invites us to look at the need to go beyond familiar voices and increase equity and diversity in co-production, think about how we can access better information, training and development and have clear definitions and language around co-production. We’ll also be thinking about how to show the impact and difference co-production makes.
Registrations are now open for our ‘Co-Production: What’s Missing? Online Conference (3 July, 10am-4pm)’. There are six interactive workshops: showcasing SCIE’s Impact Tool measuring the impact of co-production; a closer look at the IMPACT Centre – improving adult care together, and the Centre for Care’s ‘Technology and Living a Good Life’ co-produced research; a discussion on how equity, diversity and inclusion can be improved across co-production; an exploration of new tools and resources like Halton’s Co-production Charter; and an honest examination of what needs to change around the language of co-production and social care. Interactive discussions and plenary speakers will take place alongside.
There’s more! We’ll also have webinars looking at co-production in leadership at Mind, and the co-production journey of Kirklees Council.
Throughout the week we’ll share resources, publish blogs and have plenty of interactive discussions on social media highlighting what’s missing in co-production and what’s needed to amplify the experiences and perspectives of diverse groups of people. Do follow and engage with us.
