What is a Service User:
»Everyone who uses/accesses HSC services is in effect a Service User. For example, accessing GPs services, dentists, pharmacies etc, so, in some sense, we are all users of services.
»In terms of Involvement, there will be opportunities for Service User participation at different levels. Those who are more frequent users of services and who therefore have a greater experience of Health and Social Care provision, will naturally be more likely to be interested in engaging in HSC conversations around commissioning, planning and service development.
»This can include individuals who have a greater/long-term dependency on the health care system because of a condition, disability or circumstance, that goes beyond that of the average member of the public.
