Cycle Against Suicide’s training in Mental Health Peer-Support is an in-depth training in mental health support among peers. It provides training in helping peers through a difficult situation over a period of time. While providing some guidance in the steps for suicide prevention, its ultimate goal is to train in providing comprehensive support to a peer who may be struggling at a particular time of their life, and if necessary, validate and assist this person in asking for professional support.

The training consists of small groups of like-minded people joining our trainer live online over 4 evenings for informative lessons with detailed instructions and guidance, Q and A time, and hands-on practice through role-play.

Testimonial – from a recipient of a Workplace Peer-supporter:
For three years, I struggled with my mental health. Earlier this year, I got to my lowest point, I didn’t know who I was anymore. I couldn’t talk to friends or family. I got so used to being unhappy, it felt normal. So, I decided to speak to Liz, (our) Workplace Buddy. Liz just listened and she told me what I already knew I had to do. I will never forget Liz’s support during, what was probably, the worst time of my life. Liz, (our) Workplace Buddy, is a Lady that Listens! Anonymous

Testimonial – from a trained Community Peer-supporter offering support in his local club.
I’ve being meaning to email you for a while to thank you. The training I did with you, I can safely say saved a life. The role play we did came into play but this time in real life. The course gave me the tools and the courage to ask the questions that needed to be asked and to get the help to the person in need. I’ve just qualified as a mental health peer support worker and your training was by far the best delivered course I’ve attended. Anonymous

The mental health of our communities is extremely important to us.
“It’s OK not to feel OK, and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help.”
