Community Falls Prevention ‘Stepping On’

Location: Western Health and Social Care Trust

The Stepping On Community Falls Prevention Programme funded by the Public Health Agency are currently looking for interested candidates to establish an Advisory Panel within the Western Trust area.

Background

The Oak Healthy Living Centre has been commissioned by the Public Health Agency as the regional lead to deliver an evidence-based falls prevention programme for older people across the Western Health & Social Care Trust Area. The Steering group consists of key stakeholders such as the Falls Integrated Pathway Coordinator, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Departments, the Health Improvement Department, and Home Safety Teams across the three district council areas:

  • Fermanagh & Omagh District Council
  • Derry City & Strabane District Council
  • Limavady Borough Within Causeway Coast and Glens Council

Additionally, the programme collaborates with seven delivery partner organisations, primarily Healthy Living Centres.

What to Expect

The Stepping on Advisory Panel will serve as a dedicated panel where service users can share their lived experiences and offer feedback directly to the Steering Group. This will help us continuously refine and improve programme delivery & falls prevention services.

Your Role & Involvement
As a member of the Advisory Panel, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Share lived experiences and perspectives on the Stepping On programme & falls prevention services.
  • Provide feedback on programme improvements and future developments.
  • Co-design enhancements to ensure accessibility and effectiveness.
  • Participate in meetings, either face-to-face or virtual, to accommodate all members.
