The Mental Health services Recovery College within the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust are inviting Service User and Carer/family representatives who have lived experience of mental health services to co-design a 10-week training course. As a member of the project group you will be an equal voice and partner in discussion about course material and delivery.
What is the Recovery College?
The Recovery College strives to provide quality mental health education and support to all who seek it, and to ensure that every individual has access to the resources they need. They offer courses that are designed to empower individuals to take control of their recovery journey and build the skills and knowledge necessary to find success.
What is the involvement role?
To co-design a 10-week Recovery College course and provide insight as a Service User or Carer to ensure that the course reflects lived experience. This will include reviewing existing materials and planning how the course is to be delivered. The course is aimed at helping service users with their first step to recovery from mental health difficulties.
Meetings are monthly until autumn 2025 and last for 90 minutes. Meetings can be either online or in-person at Ards Hospital or Lagan Valley Hospital (LPCCC) and support to access meetings will be given.
What experience is required?
- To be a service user/carer of South Eastern Trust health and/or social care services.
- To have knowledge of mental health services.
