What are Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT)?
In MDT within GP surgeries there are First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Workers and Mental Health Practitioners that work alongside the existing practice team, along with increased numbers of Health Visitors and District Nurses to provide enhanced access to health and social care services within a primary care setting.
What is the MDT Project Board?
The Project Board oversees the implementation of MDT within Primary Care. This includes running the programme in line with best practice, within available budgets, to attain maximum benefit to the patient population.
What is the involvement role?
To be a member of the Project Board as a Service User or Carer representative. Meetings are once every 3 months in the morning at 8.30am for 2 hours. Meetings are online and support is available.
What experience is required?
Experience of senior level meetings is preferable. This opportunity is open to all South Eastern Trust service users and carers. Applications are particularly sought from Downpatrick and wider areas.
