The Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO) is inviting voluntary and community sector organisations to take part in a short, anonymous survey about their awareness and experience of NIPSO’s work. The survey takes 5–7 minutes to complete.
NIPSO investigates unresolved complaints about public services and works to ensure people are treated fairly by public bodies. It also has the power to carry out own initiative investigations where wider systemic issues may be affecting the public interest, and works with public bodies to strengthen complaints handling standards.
Organisations across the voluntary and community sector often support people when problems arise with public services. By sharing your experience, you can help shape how NIPSO:
- engages more effectively with the sector
- identifies and intervenes earlier where systemic issues are emerging
- improves its own initiative work on failures that affect large groups of people
- strengthens complaint handling standards across public bodies
- reduces the navigation and administrative burden that can fall on community organisations
- makes it easier for the people you support to access fair outcomes
Ultimately, your insight will contribute to improving how public services respond when things go wrong, and to ensuring that individuals can access fair treatment more easily.
