Experiences of pancreatic cancer in NI

Location: Regional

Lana Cook, a PhD student in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Queen’s University Belfast is working in partnership with the charity NIPANC (Northern Ireland Pancreatic Cancer) on the study ‘Understanding the lived experiences of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in Northern Ireland: A grounded theory approach‘ and I’d love to hear from individuals with personal or professional experience related to pancreatic cancer.

Your input can make a meaningful impact in understanding the pancreatic cancer journey for people diagnosed in Northern Ireland (and further afield) and will help us to improve future support and care.

The online form below should take around 4 minutes to complete. Completing it does not mean you are obligated to participate; it just lets me know you’re interested. If you meet the eligibility criteria for the study, I’ll contact you to discuss any questions you may have and provide further information.

I’m looking for volunteers who belong to the following groups: 1. People who have/had pancreatic cancer; 2. Family members/care partners of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer; 3. Professionals working in care, support, or advocacy who have insight into the pancreatic cancer journey.

For 1. and 2., participation will involve one-to-one interviews and for 3., participation will involve focus groups.

There will also be the option to participate in a photography project, where you would take a photograph that represents your experiences of or insights into pancreatic cancer and we would talk about this during our conversation. It’s best if this does not show a person. I can give you more information about this if you would like!

Thank you again for your time and for considering being part of this important work!
