Regional Unscheduled Care Service User and Carer Reference Group

Get involved

Unscheduled care refers to services which cannot always be planned in Health and Social Care. We are seeking people to get involved to make a real difference to unscheduled care services such as Out of Hours services, Emergency Departments, and discharge processes from hospital into different care settings, including care at home.

As a group we are involved to help shape unscheduled care services regionally across Northern Ireland and also in the work taking place within your local Health and Social Care Trust.

Our work has included:

  • Strengthening the service user and carer involvement into improving waiting times, community responses, transfer to community services and referral processes.
  • Establishing links to each of the Locality Network groups which operate in the five local Health and Social Care Trusts.
  • Embarking on a major programme of work to support a Regional Review to shape urgent and emergency care in Northern Ireland.

Project overview

The Regional Unscheduled Care Service User and Carer Reference Group are seeking service users and/or carers who have had an experience of unscheduled care and those who are also interested to work within Health and Social Care, to join their group. The Reference Group is a service user and carer voice which seeks to shape Unscheduled Care. As a member of the group, you will be supported to understand the issues and training will also be provided.
