The set-up of the Regional Mental Health Service (RMHS) in Northern Ireland is a priority action of the Mental Health Strategy 2021-2031. Its core objective is to provide people across Northern Ireland with equitable access to high quality, consistent and locally based mental health services. The service will be shaped and designed through:-
- greater collaborative working across primary and secondary mental healthcare
- full integration of the community and voluntary sectors
- involvement of people with lived experience of mental health services
A regional Service User Consultant is being appointed to ensure users of mental health services are fully represented and incorporated in the decision-making and set-up of the RMHS.
